We have received our first shipment for INJECTABLE FLU SHOTS FOR THE 2017-
2018 FLU SEASON. The vaccine, Fluzone, protects against 4 different strains of the flu
(type A&B) that are expected to be prevalent this fall and winter season.

Fluzone Quadrivalent vaccine is approved for use in persons 6 months of age and older
and is PRESERVATIVE FREE.

We will not be offering flu mist, the intranasal vaccine, per CDC’s recommendations.
“CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) has again decided to
recommend against use of live attenuated influenza vaccine (LAIV; FluMist) for the 2017-
2018 flu season because of the vaccine’s reduced efficacy.”

Due to the timing of Wildflower Pediatrics opening in June, we were unable to order flu
vaccines for parents. We will provide updates on our supply if more become available from
the manufacturer during the winter season.

Call 512-900- 6055 to make an appointment to receive the flu vaccine. Please
remember these appointments are for vaccine administration only to ensure short wait
times for other patients. If you have any concerns about your child, Dr. Dudley would be
happy to see him or her at a regularly scheduled appointment. If you are already scheduled
for a visit with Dr. Dudley, we would be happy to offer the flu vaccine at that time for your
child or any siblings present.

Danielle (LVN) will be available to provide flu vaccines:

Wednesday and Thursday afternoons 4:00pm-5:00pm
Tuesday and Thursday mornings 8:00am-9:00am

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or feedback you can provide during this
process. We are truly honored to care for every family at Wildflower Pediatrics!

Sincerely,
Dr. Courtney Dudley, MD, FAAP
