What is a Physician Assistant?
A Physician Assistant is a medical professional who practices medicine in collaboration with physicians. PAs are extensively trained health care providers who receive a master’s degree and are certified to practice medicine. PAs are valuable members of the health care team who can conduct physical exams, diagnose patients, order and interpret lab tests, write prescriptions, and formulate treatment plans. Often, PAs serve as a patient’s primary healthcare provider. PAs work in all areas of healthcare, including pediatrics. Rachael comes with six years of experience exclusively in the pediatric outpatient setting. She is able to establish continuity of care with patient families as the sole provider and in collaboration with Dr. Dudley.

Carol is a Licensed Vocational Nurse and started with Wildflower Pediatrics January of 2018. When she moved to the area, finding a solo pediatric practice was difficult and she watched Wildflower open from the internet. It only took her 5 months to apply and she was hired immediately.   She has over 30 years of experience in nursing with 20 of those spent working for a solo pediatrician in the Texas Panhandle.  She is well versed in pediatric medical billing and is the Practice Manager here at Wildflower. She wears many “hats” here. Give her a task and it will be done. She brought with her the title of “Best Shot Giver” and that has remained true here.

Pediatrics has been her passion since graduation from nursing school.  She feels there is almost always a happy experience in this field.  Kids will get sick but almost always get well.  Knowing the whole family is the best part of the job, she likes to know the whole patient and not just as a number.

She and her husband moved to Liberty Hill 10 years ago and have 2 daughters that have followed them here. Their son and his family live in the Panhandle. Medical careers run in the family as their daughters are nurses, one son-in-law is a Respiratory Therapist and the other is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.  Her pride and joy are her 8 grandchildren aging in range from 17 years to 2 years.

In her spare time, you can find her at one of the grandkids activities or visiting the ones in the panhandle.  She loves flowers and lucky for Wildflower she enjoys it here as well as she maintains the gardens and patio.
