Dr. Franchesca Estrada
Dr. Estrada was born in Silver City, NM, and is proud of her NM roots. She attended Stanford University, receiving her BA in Psychology. She attended University of Washington School of Medicine and completed her residency training at the University of AZ in Pediatrics. She was recognized on the Dean’s List for Excellence in Teaching and received a Commitment to Excellence letter while in residency.
Dr. Estrada started her career at Phoenix Children’s providing urgent care to pediatric patients. Although she enjoyed meeting new families and taking care of urgent patient needs, she moved back to Tucson, where she trained, and expanded her skills working in a pediatric emergency center before joining the hospitalist team at Tucson Medical Center for 3 years.
She loved hospital medicine and it eventually brought her to Austin, when she joined Dell Children’s Medical Center hospitalist team for 3 years. At Dell she was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics for UT Southwestern, UT Medical Branch Galveston, and Texas A&M Health Sciences Center. Within these roles she taught medical students and residents, but wanted to connect more with patients and families.
She then joined a large outpatient multi-specialty physician group for a few years in the Austin and Cedar Park area where she made amazing connections with families and truly enjoyed her bonds with patients. Now, she is ready to join us at Wildflower Pediatrics in late January 2019!
She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, board-certified in Pediatrics, and enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and pet chihuahua.
